Massachusetts Qui Tam Whistleblower Case Example:
In March 2001, Transitional Hospitals Corp. agreed to pay the government $1.56 million to settle a Federal qui tam lawsuit filed in Massachusetts, that alleged the company billed Medicare for tests on terminally ill dialysis patients that were medically unnecessary.

In July 1998, Quest Diagnostics agreed to pay the government $15 million to settle a Federal qui tam lawsuit filed in Massachusetts, that alleged the company fraudulent billed Medicare for unnecessary lab tests.
